This Ain’t For Babies

The St. Paul Rodeo—a client of mine since 1996—is celebrating its 75th year! This year I got to design their anniversary logo!

Here’s their new promo video that puts it to good use:

Photoshop… My kind of shopping!

One of the main tools in my toolbox turns 20 this month! I first started using Photoshop (version 3.2) in 1993. Photoshop changed everything! What would I be doing if this program had never been invented? Probably this. (Or something like it!)

Here are a few of my own Photoshop favorites:

The earliest one I could find, named “Tillin’ the Taj Mahal”
Dated 2001, this art was created for an ad jn the St. Paul Rodeo program.

This one of Austin breathing fire, is still one of my all-time favorites!

Diecut Brochure Job

Several weeks ago I made this display for my boss to use in a presentation to some potential new clients. It has clear pockets so people can remove and handle the sample brochures.

(The display has what I call “the outrigger” on the right—a replica of our sign on Elliott Road… which, by the way, does NOT fit the table it is sitting on in his office!)

It worked! One business, a remodeling company in Sherwood, really liked the die-cut samples. So I got busy, and in two weeks we designed, printed and delivered it—just in time for the Remodeler’s Home Tour. We also made matching business cards, refrigerator magnets, notepads, postcards and thank you cards!

Here’s the brochure—simple but effective:
