Wordpress 2.9 came out today, and I must say there are some nice improvements. Nothing readers will notice, most likely, but several things that make it easier on the back end… an undo feature, and a built-in image editor to name a couple.
Since I just passed my 2 year mark, I will add some stats that I found snooping around in Google Analytics:
- I’ve had visitors from 49 States (still nobody from Vermont!)
- 83 countries! (Somebody from Kazakhstan spent over 10 minutes on ComfortZone this year!)
- My most popular post, Mousetrap Car, has been visited by 619 unique visitors!
- There’ve been 2,537 unique visitors on this blog. (Many likely by accident, but, hey everybody is welcome!)
Other (I think it’s interesting!):
- Browsers: 54% of you use Firefox (up from last year), 31% of you use Internet Explorer, and 11% use Safari (both down from last year)
- Operating systems: 33% of you are on Macs (down slightly from last year), and 66% of you are on PCs (up slightly from last year)
- Traffic Sources: Referring sites: 55%, direct traffic: 29%, and search engines: 15%
- In all there have been 205 posts, and 353 comments — Thanks!
When I upgraded to Wordpress 2.8, my K2 theme didn’t work right anymore (yikes!). So I temporarily switched to the very nice (but more limited) Amazing Grace theme. Now that K2 has a version update, I’m happily switching back to it! (Whew.)

I’ve just finished the first year of my adventure in ‘personal publishing’ with this blog, and to celebrate I’m going to share a bunch of ComfortZone stats with you (and show you a picture of me on my real first birthday!).
This sure has been a good creative outlet for me. I have enjoyed the interactions and comments I’ve gotten from people, and I have learned a ton from fiddling with it. Here are some ComfortZone stats from Google Analytics:
Content:
Visitors:
- Unique visitors: 920
- Record number of visitors in one day: 58
(Thanks to Sherry for putting a link in the church newsletter!)
- Total visits: 3,059
- Visitors have come from 37 different countries and 43 different states
Other (I think it’s interesting!):
- Browsers: 49% of you use Firefox, 34% of you use Internet Explorer, and 17% use Safari
- Operating systems: 41% of you are on Macs, and 59% of you are on PCs
- Traffic Sources: Referring sites: 58%, direct traffic: 29%, and search engines: 13%
- Top referring sites: mauriandsherry.com (98), greggsgambles.com (88), and janellwoods.blogspot.com (77) — Thanks!
My goals for the next year are to keep learning CSS, keep writing, designing and drawing, and keep having fun with it.
