I rode my bike to work this morning. Here are three unusual things that happened:
- There was a sleeping raccoon right in the bike lane! I suppose he got tired of waiting to get across the “Dundee traffic”. That’s smart. Possums are a lot less patient. (I guess my “I share the road” sticker means more than I thought)
- I got honked at by a pretty girl (OK, it was Deanne, driving past on her way to class)
- I almost ran into a parked car (riding straight into the sun, I tilted my helmet/visor down to shade my eyes, and then was studying the pavement a little too long!)

Last weekend was the trip to Black Butte with the guys. After meeting at 6 a.m. last Friday morning, we headed over to Black Butte for breakfast at the lodge.

Later that morning we climbed Black Butte (you can drive 3/4 of the way up, and then hike the last 2 miles). The view and weather were both spectacular.

On Saturday four of us rode a thrilling downhill (mostly!) ride from Mt. Bachelor to Bend. I’m all charged up, and I think I can make it until our spring trip! Another highlight: the hot tub and swimming pool construction was finished!
