An Update

A dishwasher follow-up post is in order…

When the repair guy came and inspected under the dishwasher for the cause of the leak, he found that everything was fine under there. He then took things apart inside, and he found that a rubber gasket had not been placed correctly.

I never suspected that I might have caused that leak–but it was me (hard as it is to admit!). About 3-4 weeks ago, I had to get a noisy cherry pit out of the bottom of the dishwasher–down by the blade, and apparently I didn’t get it back together right!

So it was an easy fix for him, and the dishwasher works again… and it’s quiet again… and the damage claim against the company is off… and I will be fixing the floor! :-(

On a brighter note, I did get quite a few responses to my Dishwasher Survey.

Here are the results:

  1. 80% indicated that they are happy with their dishwasher
  2. 80% have had theirs less than 5 years
  3. The most popular feature selected: “Quiet”
  4. The most common brand: Whirlpool (40% of respondents)
  5. 100% indicated that they would recommend the brand they had
  6. 20% reported that they had experienced a dishwasher problem at some time in the past

Thanks to everyone who took the survey!

  • Well, it’s a bitter-sweet outcome. Sorry it happened at all, but it happens and it hurts a while. If you were a small boy again, I’d kiss it and tell you “it’s all better and have it go away.” (or on the other hand, I might say what I said first. ha.

    Excuse the philosophizing.

Happy Fathers Day! See you soon. Love Mom
