53 years. Woohoo!

Today, 53 years ago, my parents made their promises to each other, for better or for worse. I have greatly benefited from that commitment.  My family has also been greatly blessed by their example of faithfulness and love.

Thanks Mom and Dad!

Here’s a sketch I made for their 50th Anniversary…

17 times 40! (and counting…)

My Dad likes to volunteer at Friendsview and also at George Fox University. What he loves to do (and does well) is operate machinery, like mowers and tractors.

A local Newberg company is moving out of town into an old chicken farm. They offered all the chicken manure to George Fox as they need the barns cleaned out. At the university they will mix it with leaves and debris from the campus and make their own compost. Well, my dad volunteered to load the bins with the “fertilizer.” So far he’s filled 17 dumpsters, and they hold 40 scoops each!

Here he is. Good thing he’s got a mask on — that’s poop!

An interesting note: Dad helped buld these same chicken barns several decades ago!
