My grandmother passed away yesterday, ending a long and fruitful life on this earth, as well as a wonderfully sweet and memorable week. Those of us who were fortunate enough to be with her will cherish the memories from these past few days and nights for the rest of our lives.
Each day and through many long nights this week we sat with her, watched her, read the Bible and sang with her, listened as she quoted scripture, said goodbye, and held her hand. Her fragile condition would improve and recede many times, just like the tide at the ocean. She finally went peacefully to heaven on Friday morning, my birthday.
Ruth Brown loved Jesus and was ready to go to see Him, so it is a start of something new for her!
