Austin’s Stage Debut

We just got home from opening night of Arsenic and Old Lace. The cast did an excellent job.

I am sitting here with a stunned sensation. I saw my youngest son on stage. It was him, yet he was also someone else.

Nice job, Austin! And great acting!

Mercy

Add this to the list of things that have happened to me that people wouldn’t expect… the night before last while driving home from McMinnville, I got pulled over for suspicion of drunk driving!

After handing him my license, his flashlight directly in my eyes, the officer asked, “Mr. Comfort, have you been drinking?”

“No, sir, I don’t drink.”

“You crossed the fog line a couple of times back there.”

I explained to him that my son had just bought the car, and we discovered while driving away that the heater wasn’t working. (It was below freezing, so it was really hard to see!) “That was probably when I was wiping the inside of the windshield with a rag,” I explained.

He understood and let me go. No ticket, no warning!

Mercy. There’s nothing quite like it.

By the way… It’s a 1989 Honda CRX—a very cool car. We got the heater going that night after a little bit of tinkering!

One more thing… I’m really glad there are people out there trying to keep drunk drivers off the road.
