This week we got a digital video camera for Deanne to use in her internship work. I made sure to get one that lets me transfer our old VHS tapes to DVD. It’s going to be a lot of work, but fun to go back in time. Most of these tapes I’m sure we haven’t watched in a LONG time!
This is a clip of 5-year-old Aaron practicing for the church Christmas program:

Last weekend was the trip to Black Butte with the guys. After meeting at 6 a.m. last Friday morning, we headed over to Black Butte for breakfast at the lodge.

Later that morning we climbed Black Butte (you can drive 3/4 of the way up, and then hike the last 2 miles). The view and weather were both spectacular.

On Saturday four of us rode a thrilling downhill (mostly!) ride from Mt. Bachelor to Bend. I’m all charged up, and I think I can make it until our spring trip! Another highlight: the hot tub and swimming pool construction was finished!

Here are more pictures.

Ever try to type a picture of yourself? On this one I tried using as few characters as possible. For a while now I’ve added it to family emails. It has always looked too serious though (the hyphen is really the only mouth that looked right). So last week I decided to add some animation. I now blink my eyes and even smile!
OK! I’m starting a blog. I’m not sure now where it will go, but I thought it would be fun to have a place to share news, thoughts, pictures and artwork.
Here’s a picture of some unusual visitors that got trapped in our yard this past spring… We weren’t sure if rescuing them out of our empty pond (a buried bath tub) would be such a great idea, but we put a board in and they left during the night.
